Innovelec Represents Manta in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Yukon and NWT.
Manta was founded in 1978 by a relay field technician at one of the largest electrical utilities in North America. He was frustrated by the lack of a decent relay testing system. He was using an array of components to get his job done and found that his test procedure differed wildly from one relay to the next. So he went about inventing a test system that could simulate a power system. In this way, he was able to make a device that was universal in its application: it could be used to test any brand of relay. The productivity improvements were so significant, he knew he was on to a great idea. He eventually left the utility to focus on making these test systems full-time.This was the beginning of a revolution in protective relay test sets. As our users likes to say, the Manta equipment is a true Relay Test System and not just a glorified power supply. Manta went on to pioneer the use of the Front Panel Display to present and control a vast amount of testing information visually. To this day, that continues to be a defining feature of Manta’s leadership in the industry. Most of the other test sets on the market have had to resort to Windows-based software on a separate computer to provide the visually commanding information that the Manta MTS-5100 displays natively.
